Privacy Policy

Size Up helps you gain weight and build muscle by tracking what you eat and coaching you with AI. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We collect what you enter: your email, body stats, goals, meals, weigh-ins and food photos.
- We use it to build your plan and run the AI features. We don't sell it, and the app contains no advertising or tracking tools.
- To analyse food, we send meal details and photos to an AI provider, which doesn't use them to train AI models. We never send it your email, age, sex, height or weight, though some features include the daily targets calculated from them.
- Your account data is stored in the European Union.
- You can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app, at any time.
1. Who we are
Size Up is operated by Jad Ayman Saleh Abdalla, based in Jordan ("we", "us"). We are the controller of your personal data. You can reach us at support@sizeupapp.com.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account: your email address and password. Your password is handled by our sign-in provider and stored in a protected, hashed form. We never see it.
- Profile and goals: your bulk type, sex, age, height, weight, goal weight, pace, activity level and diet preference, plus the daily calorie and macro targets the app calculates from those details. We ask for your date of birth but store only your age.
- Food log: the meals you log, including names, calories, macros, ingredients and notes, and any meals you save as favorites.
- Weigh-ins: your body weight and the date of each entry.
- Food photos: when you use Scan, the photo you take or choose, and any note you add to it.
Information created as you use the app
- AI usage counts: how many AI requests your account has made, so we can apply free-use and fair-use limits.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active subscription and when it renews or ends.
- Technical information: like any internet service, our server processes your IP address to deliver requests, and keeps basic logs such as your account's internal ID, errors and timestamps. These logs don't contain your meals or photos.
When you visit our website
Our website, sizeupapp.com, uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It records which page you viewed, the site that linked you there, your browser and device type, and your approximate country. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't identify you, and doesn't track you across other websites. None of it is connected to your Size Up account.
What we don't collect
The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tools. We don't access your location or contacts, we don't read data from Apple Health or Google Fit, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
We only use your camera when you open Scan, and your photo library only when you choose a photo from it.
3. Health-related information
Your body measurements, weight, diet and meals are health-related information. In some places, including the EU and UK, this is treated as a special category of personal data. We process it only to provide Size Up to you, based on your explicit consent, which you give by entering it. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting the information or deleting your account.
4. How we use your information
- To calculate your calorie and macro targets and your projected goal date.
- To show your progress, streaks and history.
- To run AI features: recognising food in photos, estimating nutrition, analysing meals and suggesting what to eat.
- To keep your data in sync across your devices when you sign in.
- To send emails about your account, such as confirming your email address.
- To apply free-use and fair-use limits and prevent abuse.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems, and meet our legal obligations.
We don't sell your personal information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
If you're in the EU or UK, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you, to provide the app; your explicit consent, for health-related information; our legitimate interests, to keep the service secure and reliable and prevent abuse; and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How the AI features use your information
When you use an AI feature, our server sends the content needed for that request to OpenRouter, which passes it to Google's Gemini model to produce the result.
- Scan: your food photo, any note you add, your diet preference and bulk type, and the calories and macros you have left for the day.
- Meal lookup: the meal name you typed.
- Meal analysis: the meal name and its nutrition values, your diet preference and bulk type, your daily calorie and macro targets, and what you have left for the day.
- Suggestions: your diet preference, bulk type, and the calories and macros you have left for the day.
We never send your email address, age, sex, height or body weight to the AI provider, and requests don't include your account details. Your daily targets are calculated on your phone from those details, so the AI only ever sees the resulting numbers. Those numbers do indirectly reflect your body stats: for example, your protein target is based on your body weight.
We don't store your photos on our servers; they're used only to produce your result.
We've configured our AI provider so your content isn't used to train AI models.
AI results are estimates and can be wrong. Please read our Terms of Service before relying on them.
6. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf, under contract, to run Size Up:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or ourselves. If Size Up is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy, and we'll tell you first.
7. Where your data is stored
Your account data is stored in the European Union. It's also stored on your phone, so the app works without a connection. Some providers, including our AI, email and payment providers, may process information in the United States and other countries. Where information leaves the EU or UK, it's protected by recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep it
- We keep your information for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account, your profile, food log, weigh-ins, favorites and usage records are deleted from our live database straight away, and the data on that phone is erased. Copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period before they're overwritten.
- When you delete a meal, weigh-in or favorite, it's removed from your account and from your other devices the next time they sync.
- Photos aren't stored by us. A temporary copy may stay in the app's cache on your phone until your device clears it.
- Signing out doesn't delete anything. Your data stays in your account and on that phone.
- Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period.
9. Your rights and choices
In the app
- View and change your profile and goals in Profile.
- Delete any meal, weigh-in or favorite.
- Delete your account and all of its data in Settings → Delete account.
By email
Contact support@sizeupapp.com to get a copy of your data, correct something you can't change in the app, object to how we use your information, or ask a question. We'll reply within 30 days.
If you're in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and transfer your personal data, to object to its use, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you're in California or another US state with privacy laws, we don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
10. Security
Data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Our database is set up so that each account can only ever read and change its own data, and passwords are stored only in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure, so if you believe you've found a security problem, please tell us at support@sizeupapp.com.
11. Minimum age
Size Up isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you're 16 or 17, please get a parent or guardian's permission before using it. If you believe someone under 16 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Size Up changes. We'll update the date at the top, and if a change is significant we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
